Submetering Equipment
AmCoBi designs, installs, and services high quality, affordable submetering systems from leading equipment manufacturers. These water, electric, heat, and gas meters are equipped for remote, wireless reading and tenant billing.
Heat Metering
Heat metering equipment, also referred to as "energy allocation, " "gas allocation," or "energy cost allocation" equipment, is used to allocate heating fuel consumption--natural gas, oil, steam--for residents at multifamily complexes. Heat metering is an excellent option that enables multifamily owners to bill for gas when central heating systems--baseboard radiation, fan coil units--furnaces, and domestic hot water heaters are used.
Heat meters connect to different wireless AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) systems and offer a fair and equitable way to bill tenants, reduce utility expense, and save money.

Water Submeters
The most prevalent submetering systems installed in multifamily complexes and condominium associations are water submeters. To implement a water submetering system, each residential unit must have a plumbing configuration that supports it. Usually, this means that there will be a single water line supplying all water to the unit and it will have a shutoff valve.
A licensed plumber will install a water submeter in each residence. These submeters are usually fitted with wireless transmitters so that the amount of water used in each unit can be sent to a central data collector on the property. Data collectors are accessed remotely and resident consumption data can be used for billing purposes.
Electric Submeters
Ideal for new and retrofitted apartments or condominiums, electric submetering allows a property owner to measure the amount of electricity each resident is using and bill them according. Electric submeters are usually installed at the breaker panel in each multifamily unit by a licensed electrician. They also use wireless transmitters to send consumption data to a central data collector for billing.
Electric meters are highly reliable and very affordable.
Gas Submeters
Gas submeters can be used when the plumbing configuration of a multifamily complex supports their installation. A licensed plumber will install a gas meter on the gas line for each residential unit. These meters use wireless transmitters and measure all gas used by a residence.
